The Three Venues, The Restoration Projects

8:24 AM

The Three Venues

I am outside a building with a small group of people. I'm dressed like someone might be in the 1960s or even 50s. I am waiting for some sort of performance. I think back to when I was inside. It was some sort of an apartment. It was a living space I was sharing with several people, family likely.

Now I am dressed for some sort of performance. I have clothes that are not formal but they're dressed up. I have white long sleeve shirt, a vest and my shirt has oversized cuffs with large cuff links.I am with an older family member and we are tracking what is happening in the performance very closely. We are waiting for our time to come on or at least I am waiting for my time. I also realize that I have a second performance in another location. And I need to time the two and get over to the other location precisely at the right time. I do travel to the other location feeling that I got there on time. I wake up.

The Restoration Projects

I am in the city. It is a city that is familiar in many of my dreams. It is a combination of DC and New York City. Most buildings are old red brick. I'm with a group of people including an older gentleman, he may be a family member. He's excited about a new project that he has and he tells me I should go look at it. It's parked outside on the street. I have no idea what I'm going look at so I go out and see a big mass of machinery. But when I look up it's a garbage truck with a lot of complex parts on it. He says no no no it's down there. I am inside an old wooden building. I see in great detail a very old very dirty and somewhat dilapidated motorcycle. The chain is much more massive and ornate than any actual motorcycle would be. It becomes apparent that this is a retired racing motorcycle from sometime ago. And even in its current condition it was very expensive to buy and very valuable. Each bike races all season long and this was the winning motorcycle for the season. I can see red and white colors through the dirt. He plans on a complete restoration to showroom condition.

In the next scene there is a boat that pulls into a garage on the water. Here my uncle(?) is restoring outboard motors. I spent some time looking at several engines that are in the water. They are going through a process where old fuel or liquid is leaking out. They are floating in the water on their sides. At some precise point they flip over when they reach a certain equilibrium. They pop out of the water several inches, settle back and align themselves perfectly vertical in the water.

Notes: I have been spending a lot of time looking at motorcycles. The restoration my be about me. I like the metaphor of an classic motorcycle racing bike being restored.

What is the dream telling me?
Restore myself. Although, it will be ready for the showroom, not the race track. Hummm. The Three Venues, I have no idea.

What am I going to do about it? Start the restoration. Exercise, primarily stretching at first, eating better (more plant based) and meditation!!!
